What SimpleBiz Analytics is

SimpleBiz Analytics is a read-only analytics and business-management dashboard for small businesses. It connects to a business's existing point-of-sale system (starting with Clover) to surface sales, menu, and customer reporting. We do not process payments and we do not replace your point-of-sale system.

Data we access from Clover

When a business connects their Clover account, we read (never write) the following data via Clover's REST API, using only the OAuth scopes the merchant explicitly grants during connection:

  • Merchant profile (business name, time zone)
  • Orders, line items, order types, and discounts
  • Payments (amount, tender type, tips) — never card numbers or payment credentials
  • Items, categories, and modifiers (your menu/inventory)
  • Customers synced from completed orders
  • Employees and shift data, where connected, to calculate labor cost

How we use this data

Data pulled from Clover is used solely to power the business's own dashboards — sales trends, menu margin analysis, customer relationship views, loyalty, inventory, and P&L reporting. It is scoped to that business's account and is never shared with, or visible to, any other business using SimpleBiz Analytics.

What we don't do

  • We never sell customer or transaction data to third parties.
  • We never write, modify, or delete data in your Clover account.
  • We never initiate, capture, or refund payments — Clover remains your payment processor.

Data security

Clover access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. All traffic to and from SimpleBiz Analytics is served over HTTPS. Access to a business's data is scoped to authenticated users who belong to that business's account.

Disconnecting

A business can disconnect Clover at any time from their dashboard, or by revoking SimpleBiz Analytics' access directly from their Clover account. Disconnecting stops further data syncing; previously synced data is retained in the dashboard until the business requests deletion.
